CLASSES

Classes in the Arts
Breanna's Gift provides classes in the arts for critically ill children and their siblings. The offerings vary. Here is a sampling of classes offered to date. All of our classes are taught by professional artists and teachers.

Dance
Dance classes are geared to every age group. We offer classes in ballet, tap, jazz and flamenco. The teachers have developed a series of exercises designed to teach balance, coordination and rhythm, as well as, dance class discipline and etiquette. And of course, the most important lesson of all, how to have fun moving to music.

Music
Music classes are taught using a variety of musical instruments. Our teachers have backgrounds in music therapy and the Suzuki method of teaching. They share and bring their joy of music through harp, guitar, piano and voice. In class, the children sing books and work with rhythm instruments such as lollipop drums, rhythm sticks and shakers.

Visual Arts
The visual arts offer a wide range of opportunities for the children to experience many techniques and styles of expression. Our teachers have many years of experience in metal sculpture, drawing, origami, watercolor, paper making, photography, collage, bookmaking, puppetry and the list goes on. Every teacher has a great love of their craft and shares the joy of the arts by taking the children into the wonderful world of imagination and possibilities.
